Chronic knee osteoarthritis is a common degenerative joint disease in middle-aged and elderly people, characterized by articular cartilage wear, synovial inflammation and joint pain and stiffness, which seriously affects patients’ daily mobility and quality of life. Traditional treatment methods include drug therapy, physical therapy and surgical replacement, but drug treatment has side effects such as gastrointestinal irritation, and surgical treatment is costly and traumatic, unsuitable for mild and moderate patients. Conventional physical therapy equipment has single treatment function and poor targeted therapeutic effect, unable to achieve long-term joint repair and inflammation regression. This study develops a household and clinical dual-purpose low-intensity pulsed ultrasound therapeutic medical device for knee osteoarthritis rehabilitation. The device outputs adjustable low-energy pulsed ultrasound with specific frequency and intensity, which can penetrate the knee joint soft tissue, promote local blood microcirculation, accelerate the metabolism of inflammatory factors, and relieve joint swelling and pain. More importantly, the targeted ultrasound energy can stimulate chondrocyte proliferation and repair damaged articular cartilage tissue, realizing fundamental improvement of joint degenerative lesions rather than simple symptomatic relief. The device is equipped with intelligent mode selection function, which can automatically match treatment parameters according to different degrees of osteoarthritis (mild, moderate and severe). A 6-month controlled clinical trial confirms that the low-intensity pulsed ultrasound therapeutic device can effectively improve knee joint function, reduce pain recurrence rate, and has no trauma, no side effects and high safety. As a non-invasive rehabilitation medical device, it provides a new green treatment scheme for the conservative treatment and long-term rehabilitation of chronic knee osteoarthritis.
