The indwelling needle is mainly composed of a puncture needle, a hose, a needle base, a heparin cap or a needle-free connector, etc. Puncture needles are usually made of medical stainless steel, and their cutting edges have undergone special processing techniques, making them sharp and highly penetrating, facilitating rapid and precise vein puncture. The hose is made of materials with excellent biocompatibility, such as polyurethane (PU) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which are soft and elastic in texture. It can float naturally with the blood flow in the blood vessels, reducing friction and mechanical damage to the vessel walls. The needle bases are convenient for medical staff to hold and operate. Some needle bases also have anti-slip patterns or special designs to enhance the stability of puncture. Heparin caps or needle-free connectors are used to seal the end of the catheter to prevent the backflow of blood and the entry of air, and at the same time provide interfaces for subsequent infusion, drug administration and blood collection. Among them, needle-free connectors can more effectively reduce the risk of needle-puncture.
